Offshoring Will Boost Employment and Economic Growth
Brink Lindsey, a senior fellow at the Cato Institute, reported this month in a briefing paper* on the economic data that reveals that globalization of services creates enormous opportunity for U.S. industry.
"The wild claims that offshoring will gut employment in the IT sector are totally at odds with reality," he affirms.
Cycles of job growth and economic trends explain the fact that outsourcing for efficiency increases productivity, benefits the consumer, and spurs demand for new goods and services.
Regarding outsourcing services, Lindsey summarizes, "Although some jobs are doubtless at risk, the same trends that make outsourcing possible are creating new opportunities--and new jobs--throughout the U.S. economy."
